His Life Story, in a nutshell
-Born May 11th 1904 in Figueres, Spain.
-Had an Older Brother who had the same name
-His parents told him he was a reincarnation of his older brother.
-Said to be influenced by the Renaissance.
-Was not limited to just painting, also did drawings, writing, made sculptures, did photography and made films.
-Had a very unusual behaviour, which almost got more attention that his art,

-1929: Met his muse, and Future Wife, Gala Dali
-1931: painted The Persistence of Memory
-1936: goes to do a lecture in the London International Surrealist Exhibition, arrives on stage in a full diving suit and mask, holding a pool cue, and having two dogs accompany him. Once he removed the mask, he said to the crowd: ``I just wanted to show that I was 'plunging deeply' into the human mind."
-1940 to 1949 he lived in the US to escape WWII
-Returned to Spain in 1949
-Post WWII he became fascinated with science and mathematics and symbolized it in his art
-1980: his wife started giving him unknown medication which deteriorated his nervous system, causing him to lose the ability to create artwork because his hand would tremble in a way that looked like Parkinson’s.
-1984: his family has him sign blank canvases to make forgeries and to be sold after his death
-Passed away Jan. 23rd, 1989.
